Cotton

Seven (Cotton) when she was first recovered from the Abilene, Texas shelter.

Cotton after several months in her new home.

Cotton was in a kill shelter in Abilene, Texas when someone located her on the internet.  After a few phone calls we determined that she was, indeed, probably full-blood vizsla.  Then known as Seven, and about 18 months old she was a intact small female vizsla, but really undernourished.  However, she came to us with some basic house manners such as sit, stay, and the ability to walk well on leash.  When we picked her up from the Human Society, she only weighed 29 pounds and was so weakened and discouraged she did not even stand up when spoken to.  I crawled into the kennel with her and began to cry....such a sweet little girl.  After springing her from the Abilene Human Society we headed toward Amarillo with her.  The trip brought us a flat tire, a ticket and over nine hours to get her safe, but well worth the trip.  A forever home (who had been waiting for the right rescue girl) was waiting for her in the Dallas area.   She lives there with her "step sister", Cali, a lovely red vizsla and he new forever Mom and Dad.
